Healing after having a miscarraige

After some very sad news: earlier this year (2012), for our 12 week scan, (end of Feb 2012), the gynie told us that our little one did not make it. Growth apparently had already stopped at 9 weeks. We were really quite devastated and disappointed, but we are OK and have accepted it. This situation inspired me to write a song about it titled ‘Unborn’.

I dedicate this song to all the moms who have gone through a similar experience. Understanding that our heavenly Father is so good and merciful as well as understanding that we do live in a fallen world where Jesus has not yet returned to restore and perfect it, these things do happen, even though God is ultimately in control. Having the understanding that in Rom 8 vs 28 it says that all things work together for the good to those who love God and are called according to His purposes, means that whatever can happen to us in this life, because God is all loving and all powerful, He has the ability to turn anything out for His glory and for our good. Please read my blog ‘Is everything that happens to us God’s will?’

Our finite minds cannot understand this and we often want to rationalise with human logic, but God operates on a level so supernatural and beyond our understanding, that we would walk in error to think that He is weak and as ill intent towards us. When I look back on my life and think of all the disappointments, the injustices and missed opportunities, God has always been able to show me how powerful and how true He is to Himself in being able to bring life to dead places, healing to hopeless and has always set me up for victory, no matter what I have been through. This is what I stand on, and God is eternally faithful. The happenings in our fallen world will often be ‘chaotic’ – because God is not yet ‘all in all’. 1 Corinthians 15:28- When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Not everything that happens to us is God’s will and we need to know this, BUT He can turn anything out for our good because again, He is all powerful and we are His children who love Him. There is so much in creation that does not reflect God. Creation is not only finite, but also fallen. After the fall of man, sin, disease and destruction entered the world where the God given authority we once possessed was handed over to Satan in being subject to him by obeying him (Adam and Eve). We must locate the origin of natural and man-made disasters to the right place, and not blame God by abdicating responsibility for these things to Him, when again it is simply the effect of a fallen world.

I pray that this song will minister to you if you are able to relate to this, and know that the death of an unborn child, in my opinion, is not the end of that life. We have life that is so far beyond what we know and superior to this life here on earth, and true life begins at the Father. I feel I will meet my little one one day, who is now experiencing true life, living in the Father’s presence.

Psalm 139 vs 13 - 18

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. 16 Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. 17 How precious to me are your thoughts,[a] God! How vast is the sum of them! 18 Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand— when I awake, I am still with you. In all circumstances, God is always worthy to be praised!
